KEVIN REGAN NAMED HOCKEY EAST DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
    WAKEFIELD, Mass.  – Junior goaltender Kevin Regan (South Boston, Mass.) of the No. 2 ranked University of New Hampshire men’s hockey team was named Co-Defensive Player of the Week by the Hockey East Association on Monday afternoon.

    Regan, who won the award for the first time this season and for the fourth time in his Wildcat career, started both games last weekend for the Wildcats against No. 4 Boston College and Northeastern and made 49 saves on 53 shots by the opponent in the two victories. He made 21 saves in his 30th collegiate win with the 6-3 win against the Eagles at Conte Forum on Tuesday night and he made 28 saves in the 3-1 victory against the Huskies at Matthews Arena.
    He has started 11 of UNH’s 12 games this season and owns a 8-2-1 record with a 2.55 GAA and a .914 save percentage. In league play, he has amassed a 2.36 GAA and a .917 save percentage with a 6-1-1 record. Regan has allowed two goals or fewer in five of his 11 starts. During UNH’s eight-game unbeaten streak, Regan owns a 6-0-1 record with a 2.26 GAA and a .923 save percentage. He ranks fifth in the conference in GAA and save percentage, while nationally his 77.3% winning percentage ranks sixth among Division I goalies.
The Wildcats return to action on Tuesday, Nov. 28 vs. Merrimack College. Game time at the Whittemore Center is 7 p.m.
