Wakefield, MASS. – Junior forward Mike Radja (Yorkville, Ill.) of the University of New Hampshire men’s hockey team was named CCM/RBK Player of the Week by the Hockey East Association on Monday afternoon.

    Radja (3g, 1a) posted four points on the week as UNH collected three points against Boston University and Maine. He posted one goal in the 4-4 tie with the Terriers on Friday night at the Whittemore Center, then Radja registered three points (2g, 1a), including the game-winning goal on Sunday afternoon in the 8-2 win over No. 1 ranked Maine at Alfond Arena.
    He currently centers UNH’s top line with seniors Jacob Micflikier (Winnipeg, Manitoba) and Brett Hemingway (Surrey, B.C.) that has combined for 32 points (11g, 21a) this season for the Wildcats. Radja ranks fourth on the team in scoring with 10 points (7g, 3a) in eight games and his seven goals ranks second on UNH’s roster. His point total ranks tied for seventh among league scorers and his seven goals rank third on the conference goal scoring leaderboard.
    Radja is already halfway to his career-high 20 points, which he set in his freshman season in 2004-2005. He has recorded 47 points (23g, 23a) in 88 career games as UNH’s third leading active scorer behind Hemingway and Micflikier.
    The No. 10 ranked Wildcats (5-2-1 overall, 3-1-1 HE) return to action on the road Friday, Nov. 17 at UMass-Lowell. Game time at Tsongas Arena is 7 p.m. UNH will then return to the Whittemore Center for the second game of the series with UMass-Lowell on Saturday, Nov. 18 at 7 p.m.
