REGAN NAMED HOCKEY EAST CO-PLAYER OF THE WEEK
WAKEFIELD, Mass. – Senior goaltender Kevin Regan (South Boston, Mass.) of the University of New Hampshire men’s hockey team was named RBK/CCM Hockey East Co-Player of the Week. Regan garners his third weekly award in as many weeks as he was defensive player of the week in each of the previous two weeks. The announcement was made on Monday afternoon by the league office.

Regan, who shares the honors with Boston University's Bryan Ewing, stopped 54-of-55 shots as he propelled the Wildcats to a weekend sweep of No. 7 Boston College. Regan, who has won defensive player of the week six times this season, stopped all 28 shots he faced on Friday night, including 23 in the final two periods against the Eagles and followed that up with 26 saves on Saturday night. Regan continues to excel in Hockey East play as he is 12-0-1 in his last 13 games against league foes with three shutouts and no more than three goals allowing in a single contest during that stretch.

The second-ranked Wildcats (21-7-2) will face Hockey East foe Merrimack College (12-15-3) in a home-and-home series this weekend. The teams will meet Friday, Feb. 29 (7 p.m.) at Whittemore Center and Saturday, March 1 (7 p.m.) at Lawler Arena in North Andover, Mass.
