WAKEFIELD, Mass.— Senior forward Mike Radja (Yorkville, Ill.) of the University of New Hampshire men's ice hockey team has been named the Hockey Commissioners’ Association National Division I Player of the Month for February. The assistant captain registered a point in all eight games, including five multi-point outings, in helping the Wildcats to a 7-0-1 record.
The 6-foot, 190-pound forward recorded three games with three points, including a hat trick in a 3-2 win at Maine on Feb. 8 and a goal and two assists in a 4-1 win the following night. On Feb. 16 he produced three points, including the winning goal for the first-place Wildcats in a 4-3 win over Providence.
Radja reached the 100-point and 50-goal milestones for his career with a 5-11-16 scoring line during February. He is fourth in Hockey East play in scoring with 13-16-29 and his 13 goals in conference play rank tied for second. Radja’s 1.30 points-per game average ranks him ninth in the nation and his six game-winning goals stand second nationally.
Radja and the top-seeded Wildcats will play host to eighth-seeded Massachusetts in a best-of-three series in the Hockey East Quarterfinal round on March 14-16. All the games are slated for a 7 p.m. puck drop at Whittemore Center.
