MEN'S HOCKEY TO HOST SECOND ANNUAL OPERATION HAT TRICK NIGHT, FEB. 12 (7 P.M.)
DURHAM, N.H. – The University of New
Hampshire Athletic Department has announced that it will hold the
second-annual Operation Hat Trick night at the men’s hockey
game against Providence on Friday, Feb. 12 at 7pm.
Operation Hat Trick is a special project that was created by the athletics department at the University of New Hampshire in response to a radio segment heard in early ‘08 that reported "the thing most wanted by those members of the military who have received head injuries in Iraq and Afghanistan is a baseball cap to cover their wounds, dressings and scars.” For every 2 hats sold, a third will be donated (suggested retail price of $19.95 each) to the VA Medical Centers. All branches of the military and UNH student groups are actively involved in promoting this project as well. Hats are available for sale online at www.unhwildcats.com, at Hayden Sports in Durham, at the UNH Bookstore, and at Town & Campus in Durham. In conjunction with Operation Hat Trick, UNH would like to invite all present military personnel and veterans to attend the game on February 12th for Military Appreciation Night. Reserved game tickets will be discounted to $11 and can be purchased at the Whittemore Center Arena Box Office. The Box Office is open Monday-Friday 10am-5pm. UNH will also be collecting Valentine’s for the Troops on this night. Please feel free to make Valentine’s with your family and friends and bring them to the game!
