DIGIROLAMO FETED AS HOCKEY EAST DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
WAKEFIELD, Mass. – Junior goaltender Matt
DiGirolamo (Ambler, Pa.) of the University of New
Hampshire men's hockey team was named Hockey East Pure Hockey
Defensive Player of the Week. The announcement was made Monday by
the league office. DiGirolamo earns this award for the first time
in his career and the first time a UNH player collected this honor
since Brian Foster did so Jan. 25.
DiGirolamo stopped 27 of 30 shots
against Michigan Saturday night, while all three of Michigan's
goals came on the power play. The junior netminder is first in
Hockey East in saves with 98 and minutes played at 184:50.
