DIGIROLAMO TABBED AS INSIDE COLLEGE HOCKEY'S NATIONAL PLAYER OF THE WEEK

WAKEFIELD, Mass. – Junior goaltender Matt DiGirolamo (Ambler, Pa.) of the University of New Hampshire men's hockey team was named the Inside College Hockey Player of the Week. The announcement was made Monday by Inside College Hockey. DiGirolamo is the first UNH player to win this award since Mike Sislo did so on Dec. 16, 2008.

DiGirolamo stopped 55 of 57 shots over the weekend, leading UNH to a pair of 2-1 wins over BC and UML. DiGirolamo made 31 saves Friday against the Eagles and 24 Saturday at Lowell as he posted a 1.00 GAA and  .965 save percentage. He is 4-0-2 in his last six starts with a 2.30 GAA, a .930 save percentage and wins over three nationally-ranked programs.

UNH returns to action Nov. 12-13 when it plays host to Massachusetts. Puck drops both nights at 7 p.m. at Whittemore Center. Tickets for the Massachusetts series and all UNH home games are available online at UNHWildcats.com.
