WAKEFIELD, Mass. – Senior forward Paul Thompson (Derry, N.H.) of the fifth-ranked University of New Hampshire men's hockey team (7-2-4, 5-1-2 HE) was named Hockey East Athletic Republic Player of the Month for November. The announcement was made Wednesday afternoon by the league office. Thompson, who earned HE Player of the Week honors on Nov. 22, becomes the first UNH player to earn the league's top monthly honor since Bobby Butler did so in November 2009.
Thompson posted 13 points on four goals and nine assists leading the Wildcats to a 5-1-2 mark in the month. Thompson ended the month on a tear scoring in the month's final six games with five multi-point efforts in that span. He was a +6 overall with two game-winning goals.
UNH returns to action Thursday, Dec. 2 at UMass-Lowell. Puck drops at 7 p.m. at Tsongas Center.
