Two UNH Men's Soccer Standouts Sign Pro Contracts

DURHAM, N.H.--Seniors Aaron Brunner (Dumfries, Va.) and Brian Rosa (Portsmouth, R.I.) of the University of New Hampshire men's soccer team have signed with two USISL teams recently. Brunner will play for the New Hampshire Phantoms and Rosa will appear with the Rhode Island Stingrays. Terms of the deals were not disclosed.

"Both of these guys had outstanding careers at UNH," said head coach Rob Thompson. "It's always a positive thing to ink professional deals. I'll have fun watching them play at the next level."

Brunner joins former standouts and captains Mike Keevan (UNH '98) and Willy Schweitzer (UNH '96) on a Phantom team that lost in the USISL quarterfinals last season. The Phantoms won the regionals in 1997 and 1998.

Brunner finished his career with four goals and 11 assists for 19 points. In 1998, he was selected to the all-tournament teams at the NIKE UNH Soccer Classic, the Smith Barney Soccer Classic and the Clemson/adidas Soccer Challenge.

Rosa served as the team's co-captain last season and finished his career with three goals and five assists for 11 points. In addition, Rosa was selected to the Under-23 Region I Olympic Festival team last summer.

The Phantoms and the Stingrays will face off on April 29 in Rhode Island.
