UNH Men's Soccer Falls in Overtime to New Mexico 2-1

BURLINGTON, V.T.- The University of New Hampshire men's soccer team fell in overtime to New Mexico 2-1 at the Smith Barney Soccer Classic Sunday.

The Wildcats took a 1-0 lead when freshman Doug Lawver (Doylestown, PA) put back a rebound in the 12th minute of play for his first collegiate goal. UNH held a 1-0 lead entering the locker room.

New Mexico knotted the game at 1-1 when freshman Mark Laws put one past Wildcat goalkeeper Mitch Osman (Herndon, Va.) to force the extra session.

Lobo junior Ty Hibbert scored on a rebound off teammate John Irwin's shot three minutes into overtime to win the game 2-1.

Osman stopped six shots for the Wildcats and New Mexico's Chad Nelson made three saves in net. UNH stands at 3-2-0 on the year.

UNH travels to Penn State Friday and Saturday for the Penn State NIKE Classic. The Wildcats take on Penn State on Friday at 7 p.m. and Ohio State on Saturday at 5 p.m.
