MEN'S SOCCER FALLS TO VERMONT 2-0

BURLINGTON, Vt. - The University of Vermont men's soccer team posted a 2-0 victory over the University of New Hampshire in men's soccer action here this afternoon. The win improves the Catamounts to 8-6-0 overall and 4-1-0 in America East, while the Wildcats fall to 5-6-0 and 2-2-0 in the league.

Vermont would take a 1-0 lead when Tim Willard blasted a shot from 18 yards in the 40th minute. David Said assisted on the goal. Said would strike with just over a minute gone in the second half on a feed from Jamie Farrell to make it 2-0, a lead which UVM would not relinquish.

Junior Shaun O'Neil (Wrentham, Mass.) went the distance in net for New Hampshire and turned away six shots. Chris Shaver turned away two shots for the Catamounts.

New Hampshire travels to West Hartford, Conn. on Sunday (10/15) to take on the Hawks of the University of Hartford. Game time is 1:00 p.m.
