MEN'S SOCCER CLOSES WITH 1-0 LOSS TO HOFSTRA

HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. - The University of New Hampshire men's soccer team closed out the 2000 season with a 1-0 loss to Hofstra University here this afternoon. New Hampshire closes out the year at 6-10-0 and 3-6-0 in America East, while the Pride improved to 10-4-3 overall and 6-2-1 in the league.

Hofstra netted the only goal of the game in the 20th minute when Hughroy Daley flicked a shot over New Hampshire keeper Dan Sirota's (Massapequa Park, N.Y.) head off a rebound. Aboubacar Camara assisted on the goal.

Sirota, playing in his final game as a Wildcat, made seven saves while going the distance in net. Andrew Brooke turned away seven shots for the Pride.

The game also marked the last game in the UNH careers of Drew Ferrigno (Springfield, Mass.), Kevin Iarrusso (Southwick, Mass.), Andy Karam (Schenectady, N.Y.) and Adam Purcell (Barrington, R.I.)
