MEN'S SOCCER TUNES UP WITH EXHIBITION AGAINST BC

NEWTON, Mass. - The University of New Hampshire men's soccer team fell to Boston College 3-0 in an exhibition match Saturday afternoon at Newton Campus Soccer Field. The match was BC's third exhibition in the preseason, while the game served as the 'Cats first and only tuneup prior to the regular season.

The Eagles got on the board in the 14th minute when Ramon Smith scored after being fed at the right post. Boston College would then add goals at 44:45 and 79:51.

The match gave UNH head coach Rob Thompson his first look at several newcomers in game action, including freshmen Tyler Jackson (Amherst, N.H.), Logan Lee (Racine, Wis.) and David Barrett (Chicago, Ill.).

UNH opens the regular season next weekend with the 12th annual Nike Fall Soccer Classic. The 'Cats will take on Oneonta State on Sunday (9/2) and Hartwick Monday (9/3). Both games start at 3 p.m. at Lewis Field.
