UNH'S HANKARD NAMED TO NSCAA ALL-NEW ENGLAND TEAM

DURHAM, N.H. - University of New Hampshire sophomore Brendan Hankard (Glastonbury, Conn.) was recently named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America Division I All-New England Third Team.

Hankard, a sophomore defensive back on the men's soccer team, recorded five goals and two assists for 12 points this season for the Wildcats, who reached the postseason for the first time since 1994. UNH (7-8-3, 5-4-2) qualified as the No. 6 seed for the America East playoffs before falling to eventual conference champion and NCAA Tournament participant Towson University, 2-0 in the first round.

Hankard becomes the third Wildcat to garner an award since the close of the season. Freshman Logan Lee (Racine, Wis.) was named to the America East All-Rookie Team Nov. 7 while senior Ryan DiNunzio (Kenmore, N.Y.) was selected to the America East All-Championship Team Nov. 17.
