MEN'S SOCCER REMAINS EIGHTH IN NEW ENGLAND

DURHAM, N.H. - The University of New Hampshire men's soccer team remained eighth in this week's National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) New England Region ranking released Monday (10/21). The Wildcats are one of five New England teams that has appeared in each of the eight regional rankings released this season.

UNH won its only game last week, defeating Hartford 2-1 on the road. Nicola Chicco (Claymont, Del.) registered both Wildcat tallies, while Eric Masi (York, Maine) assisted on both goals. Masi was named the America East Rookie of the Week Monday for his efforts.

New Hampshire has several players among the America East leaders released Monday. Chicco is ranked second in the conference in scoring with 18 points, while Logan Lee (Racine, Wis.) is tied for fourth with 15 points. Brendan Hankard (Glastonbury, Conn.) is ninth with 11 points. Chicco and Lee are second and third in goals scored (8 and 7), while Josh Hareld (North Kingstown, R.I.) is third in the conference with five assists. Mike Vignola (Hudson, N.H.) is ranked second among goalkeepers with a 1.21 goals-against average.

The Wildcats return to action Saturday, October 26, when they host Boston University in a key America East battle. Game time at Lewis Field is 2 p.m.
