DURHAM, N.H. - The University of New Hampshire men's soccer team played to a 0-0 tie against Wheaton College and a 1-1 tie against the University of Massachusetts Lowell on Saturday, April 3 at Bremner Field. UNH goaltending allowed just one goal in 180 minutes of play.
In the opening game, UNH goalkeepers Mike Vignola (Hudson, N.H.) and Mike Jenne (Vernon, N.Y.) combined for a shutout against Wheaton. The Wildcats' offense, however, was unable to score as the game ended in a 0-0 tie.
In the second game of the double-header, freshman forward Ryan Fishbain (Racine, Wis.) netted a first-half goal to give UNH a 1-0 lead at the break. UMass Lowell got one goal past junior goalkeeper Todd Kratt (Hampton, N.H.) before he shut the door on Lowell for the rest of the day. Freshman netminder Brian Levey (Pittsburgh, Pa.) held the River Hawks scoreless during the opening half.
UNH continues its spring schedule on Sunday, April 18 with matches against University of Maine at 2:30 p.m. and Southern New Hampshire University at 6:00 p.m. Both games will be played on Bremner Field.
