MEN'S SOCCER CLOSES SEASON WITH 2-0 LOSS TO BINGHAMTON

DURHAM, N.H. - The University of New Hampshire men's soccer team closed out the 2003 season with a 2-0 loss to Binghamton Saturday afternoon at Lewis Field. The Wildcats end the season with an overall record of 8-9-0 and a 3-6-0 mark in America East. The Bearcats improved their overall record to 10-2-6 (4-1-4 America East).

Binghamton got on the board with just over five minutes remaining before halftime, when Joey Neilson scored after a corner kick by Bryan Arnault. Arnault would net the Bearcats second goal with 6:05 remaining in the game on assists from Greg Picciano and Neilson.

Brian Levey (Pittsburgh, Pa.) turned away six shots in net for the Wildcats, while Stefan Gonet stopped five UNH shots for his 14th shutout of the season.

Prior to the match, the Wildcats honored nine seniors who were playing in their final game, Matt Chambers (Conifer, Col.), Matt Glode (Barrington, N.H.), Brendan Hankard (Glastonbury, Conn.), Josh Hareld (North Kingstown, R.I.), Jamey Haughton (Hampton, N.H.), Nicholas Mello (Rehoboth, Mass.), Otaso Osayimwese (Lincoln University, Pa.), Ben Utter (Arlington, Mass.) and Brett Wyman (Durham, N.H.).
