DURHAM, N.H.- Junior midfielder A.J. DuBois (Acworth, N.H.) scored just 16 seconds into the second overtime period to lift the University of New Hampshire men’s soccer team to a 1-0 victory over Stony Brook. With the victory, the first conference win of the season for the Wildcats, the team improves to 4-4-5, 1-1-2 in America East. The Seawolves drop to 7-5-2, 1-2-1 in the conference.

Sophomore forward Joe Annese (Attleboro, Mass.) dribbled into the Wildcats’ offensive zone on the right side. Annese fed the ball back to sophomore Patrick Gay (North Stonington, Conn.) at the middle of the box. Gay, who made his first appearance for the Wildcats this season, passed the ball to DuBois who was crossing to the left side. DuBois’ shot beat Seawolves goalkeeper Dawid Ditrich right side. Annese earned his second assist of the season on the play.

Senior Mike Jenne (Vernon, N.Y.) turned away five shots in his sixth shutout of the season for the Wildcats. Ditrich made three saves in the loss for Stony Brook. The Seawolves tallied eight shots in the first half and edged the Wildcats on shots in the game 16-10.

The Wildcats return to action next week, when they host Binghamton on Wednesday, Oct. 24. The game will be played under the lights at 7 p.m. on Bremner Field.
