GEORGE NOTCHES PLAYER OF THE WEEK HONORS
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -
Dylan George (Bangor, Maine), a junior forward on
the University of New Hampshire men's soccer team, was honored as
Player of the Week by the America East Conference on Monday
afternoon.
George scored two goals to propel the Wildcats to a 2-1 victory
against Binghamton University in America East action at Cowell
Stadium Wednesday afternoon. The win extended UNH's unbeaten streak
to seven games (6-0-1), improving the Wildcats to 9-5-2 overall and
6-0-1 in America East.
The win also wrapped up New Hampshire's first regular-season crown
since 1994 and its first outright title ever. It is the first time
since 1997 that a team completed the conference schedule without a
loss and is also UNH's best conference record since also compiling
a 6-0-1 mark in 1994.
George's four-point total is a career high and is the first time
the forward has tallied multiple goals in a game. On the season, he
has tallied 11 points on four goals and three assists, which ranks
second on the squad.
George and the Wildcats play their regular-season finale Nov. 3
against intrastate rival Dartmouth College. Game time for the
Senior Day game at Bremner Field is 7 p.m.
