DURHAM, N.H. - The University of New Hampshire men's soccer team took a trip to its section of adopted highway for their annual cleanup day.
Despite the rainy weather, the squad was able to clean up its section of Route 4 that the program started sponsoring 10 years ago and cleaned up the stretch of road. The portion of the road runs from Wagon Hill Farm to the intersection of Route 4 and Route 16 in Dover, N.H.
The tradition started in 2002 when members of the program contacted the New Hampshire Department of Transportation and signed up to sponsor the section of the road. Every year since, the team travels to its spot of the road and spend the day cleaning the trash from it.
