CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Travis Worra (Lancaster, Pa.) of the University of New Hampshire men's soccer team was named America East Co-Player of the Week as announced by the conference Monday afternoon.
Worra, a sophomore goalkeeper, held opponents scoreless on the weekend as he earned his second and third shutouts of the year at the Smith Barney Classic in Burlington, Vermont. In game one against Niagara (Sept. 7 – 0-0), Worra made six saves, including one in the first overtime frame. In game two against Central Connecticut State University (Sept. 9), he stopped all four shots that he faced and helped the Wildcats to a 2-0 victory.
Worra has allowed only one goal through his first four games, registering a 0.22 GAA and a .957 save percentage while making a total of 22 saves.
The Wildcats are back in action Saturday (Sept. 15) as they host the University of Massachusetts at Bremner Field. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m.
