MEN'S TRACK & FIELD DOWNS MAINE IN DUAL-MEET
ORONO, Maine - Seven individuals and the 4x400-meter relay team won events as the University of New Hampshire men's indoor track & field team beat the University of Maine, 93-90, Saturday afternoon at the UMaine Field House.
Graduate student Jeff Kaste (Atkinson, N.H.) won the weight throw with a toss of 58 feet, 10.25 inches. Junior Brice Paey (Milton, Mass.), who was fourth with a mark of 48-11.50, also was victorious in the shot put with a throw of 53-4.50. Kaste finished second at 49-10.
Junior John Donaghy (Sutton, Mass.) won the pole vault by clearing a height of 13-5.75.
On the track, grad student Marc Ouellette (Hopkinton, Mass.) placed first in the mile in a time of four minutes, 24.79 seconds. Senior Wes Dinnan (Juneau, Alaska) was second in 4:26.71.
Victory Adejuyigbe was first in the 200 meters in 23.32.
Junior Alex MacLeod (East Longmeadow, Mass.) won the 400 meters in 50.97.
Sophomore Bill Godfrey (Merrimack, N.H.) finished first in the 800 meters in a time of 1:58.15.
In the 4x400, the Wildcats' "A" team of junior Chris Janczyk (Bristol, Conn.), Nicholas Aubut, Godfrey and sophomore Sean Mitchell (Concord, Calif.) were winners in a time of 3:25.22.
The Wildcats return to action Saturday, Jan. 23 at noon when they play host to Holy Cross and Quinnipiac in a tri-meet at the Paul Sweet Oval.
