DURHAM, N.H. – Senior Will Brehm (Pembroke, N.H.) won a pair of events as the University of New Hampshire men’s outdoor track & field team played host to the Wildcat Invitational II on Saturday at the Reggie F. Atkins Track.

The University of Maine, Bowdoin College and Colby-Sawyer College also took part in the non-scoring meet.

Brehm won the 100 meters in 10.70 seconds, while freshman Victor Adejuyigbe (Penacook, N.H.) was third at 10.98. Brehm was also first in the 200m in 21.94, while Adejuyigbe and junior Wesley Cotnoir (Auburn, N.H.) were second and third, respectively, at 22.35 and 23.52.

In the 800m, graduate student Ben Jenkins (Francestown, N.H.) and senior Marc Ouellette (Hopkinton, N.H.) placed first and second, respectively, in times of one minute, 57.86 seconds and 1:58.08.

In the 1500m, seniors Matt O’Connor (Rhinebeck, N.Y.), Ouellette, Jenkins, Wesley Dinnan (Juneau, Alaska) and Josh Kearns (Ridgefield, Conn.) finished first through fifth, respectively, in times of 3:56.52, 3:59.64, 4:00.59, 4:03.17 and 4:07.55.

In the field, senior Anthony Vorachak (Lebanon, N.H.) was first in the long jump with a leap of 6.74m, while freshman Garrett Finn (Lebanon, N.H.) was second at 6.36m. In the triple jump, Finn was first and Vorachak second, as they submitted respective marks of 13.74m and 13.33m. Sophomore Max Hoddwells (Wayne, Maine) tied for second at 13.33m.

Freshman Matthew Guarente (Saugus, Mass.) won the high jump with a mark of 1.97m, while classmate Jason Guarente (Saugus, Mass.) was third at 1.92m.

In the pole vault, junior John Donaghy (Sutton, N.H.) and sophomore Jesse McElvain placed first and second, respectively, with marks of 4.12m and 3.96m.

In the javelin, senior Chris Morgan (Goffstown, N.H.) and junior Michael Simon (Durham, Conn.) also finished first and second, respectively, with throws of 57.81m and 54.82m.

In the hammer throw, senior Paul DeTurk (Durham, N.H.), grad student Jeff Kaste (Atkinson, N.H.), junior John Randall (Boscawen, N.H.) and freshman Chris Dupuis (Plaistow, N.H.) placed first through fourth, respectively, with marks of 60.06m, 56.92m, 50.98m and 47.83m.

Junior Brice Paey (Milton, N.H.) finished second in the shot put with a throw of 17.63m, while Kaste was fourth at 15.28m. Kaste was also second in the discus at 45.68m, seven inches behind graduated Wildcat Reed Liset.

Back on the track, sophomore Renrick Pesce (New Hartford, Conn.) placed second in the 110-meter hurdles in 15.42.

In the 3000m steeplechase, sophomore Alex Beaulieu (Merrimack, N.H.) and freshmen Sidney Griffen (Barrington, R.I.) and Greg DiSanto (Glastonbury, Conn.) finished second, third and fourth, respectively, in times of 10:18.66, 10:25.21 and 10:59.08.

Sophomore Sean Mitchell (Shrewsbury, Mass.) placed third in the 400m at 50.64.

The Wildcats’ 4x100-meter relay team of Adejuyigbe, Cotnoir, Hoddwells and Brehm finished second in a time of 43.01. The 4x400 squad of Brehm, Mitchell, junior Alex Macleod (East Longmeadown, Mass.) and freshman Nicholas Aubut (Goffstown, N.H.) was third at 3:27.72.

            The Wildcats return to action April 14-15 at the Holy Cross Heptathlon.
