DURHAM, N.H. – Junior Brice Paey (Milton, N.H.) won an individual title on the final day to the lead the University of New Hampshire men's outdoor track & field team to a third-place finish at the America East Championships at UNH's Reggie F. Atkins Track & Field Facility on Sunday.

The Wildcats finished with 127 points to place behind the University at Albany (190) and Binghamton University (139), but ahead of the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (120.5), the University of Maine (92.5), Boston University (89), the University of Vermont (44), Stony Brook University (32) and the University of Hartford (22).

Paey captured his third straight title in the shot put with an IC4A-qualifying throw of 18.10m. Graduate student Jeff Kaste (Atkinson, N.H.) and freshman Cameron Lyle (Plaistow, N.H.) placed third and sixth, respectively, with marks of 15.33m and 15.07m.

In the discus, Kaste and junior John Randall (Boscawen, N.H.) finished seventh and eighth, respectively, with throws of 43.03m and 42.22m. Kaste and Randall were second and fourth, respectively, in the hammer throw on day one with marks of 59.62m and 53.68m.

Senior Marc Ouellette (Hopkinton, N.H.) finished fifth in the 1,500m in an IC4A-qualifying time of 3:50.15.

Sophomore Sean Mitchell (Shrewsbury, Mass.) placed fifth in the 800m in a time of 1:52.82.

In the 5,000m, sophomore Dan Decrescenzo (New Milford, Conn.) and senior Wes Dinnan (Juneau, Alaska) finished sixth and eighth, respectively, in times of 15:07.25 and 15:13.00. Dinnan and Decrescenzo placed second and seventh, respectively, in the 10,000m on day one in times of 31:17.39 and 32:01.92.

The Wildcats' 4x800-meter relay team of seniors Ben Jenkins (Francestown, N.H.) and Matt O'Connor (Rhinebeck, N.Y.), as well as freshman Corey Duchemin (Manchester, N.H.) and Ouellette finished sixth in a time of 7:49.67.

The 4x400 squad of freshman Nick Aubut (Goffstown, N.H.), junior Alex Macleod (East Longmeadow, Mass.), freshman Victor Adejuyigbe (Penacook, N.H.) and Mitchell placed sixth in a time of 3:18.35.

The 4x100 team of Adejuyigbe, senior Frank Radlof (Milford, N.H.), junior Wesley Cotnoir (Auburn, N.H.) and freshman Chris Houston finished seventh in a time of 44.36.

Senior Anders Nordquist (Wolfeboro, N.H.) finished seventh in the decathlon with 6,056 points.

In the men's triple jump, sophomore Max Hoddwells (Wayne, Maine) and freshman Garrett Finn (Lebanon, N.H.) placed seventh and eighth, respectively, with leaps of 14.36m and 14.07m.

The Wildcats return to action May 7-8 at the New England Championships on the campus of Northeastern University.
