BOSTON – Senior Tyler Dinnan won the 3000 meters to lead the University of New Hampshire men's indoor track & field team at the Jay Carisella Carnival on Saturday afternoon at the Reggie Lewis Center.
Dinnan finished in a time of eight minutes, 34.82 seconds, while classmate Josh Kearns (Ridgefield, Conn.) and freshman Joseph Jourdain (Hudson, N.H.) placed fifth and seventh, respectively, in times of 8:37.63 and 8:39.86.
Freshman Kevin Greene finished second overall in the 1000 meters, crossing the finish line at 2:32.09. Freshman Jacob Critelli (Southbury, Conn.) was sixth in a time of 2:38.93.
Sophomore Matt Guarente (Saugus, Mass.) placed third in the high jump with a leap of six feet, eight inches. Classmate Jason Guarente (Saugus, Mass.) was eighth with a mark of 6-6.
In the mile run, freshman David Gervais (Nashua, N.H.) and junior Jake McDougle (Walpole, N.H.) finished fifth and seventh, respectively, in times of 4:27.41 and 4:27.98.
Sophomore Mike Marshall (Salem, N.H.) placed fifth in the 55-meter hurdles in 7.90 seconds.
The Wildcat "A" team finished seventh in the 4x400-meter relay in a time of 3:26.76.
Junior Sean Mitchell (Shrewsbury, Mass.) finished eighth in the 500 meters in a time of 1:06.24.
Senior Anthony Vorachak (Lebanon, N.H.) finished 13th in the long jump with a mark of 21-1.50.
Senior Alex Macleod (East Longmeadow, Mass.) placed 13th in the 400 meters in a time of 50.81 seconds.
Sophomore Alex Beaulieu (Merrimack, N.H.) finished 13th in the 5000 meters in a time of 15:27.63.
Freshman Eric Guinto placed 19th in the 200 meters in 23.37.
The Wildcats return to action Saturday, Dec. 11 (12 p.m.) when they play host to the University of Maine at the Paul Sweet Oval.
