Track & Field Wraps Up Action at Penn Relays
PHILADELPHIA – Senior Brice Paey (Milton, N.H.) placed seventh overall in the shot put as the University of New Hampshire track & field teams wrapped up competition on the second day of the prestigious Penn Relays on Friday.
Paey was seventh in the 26-thrower field of the College Division with an IC4A-qualifying throw of 55-11 (17.04m).
On the track, the Wildcats' distance medley relay team of sophomore Kevin Greene (Silver Spring, Md.), senior Sean Mitchell (Milford, Mass.) and freshmen Dean Bhatt (Woodbridge, Conn.) and John Prizzi (Wycoff, N.J.) finished seventh overall in the College Division in a time of 10:06.62.
Also in the field, junior Matthew Guarente (Saugus, Mass.) competed in the Eastern Division of the high jump.
On Thursday, junior Keely Maguire (Georgetown, Mass.) finished sixth in the 24-runner field in the College Championship Division of the 3,000 meters, crossing the finish line in a time of 9:33.76. Maguire, the lone UNH women's competitor, set a new school record in the event and also qualified for the ECAC Championships.
Both sides return to action on Saturday, April 28 when the Wildcats host the Wildcat Invitational II at the Reggie F. Atkins Track & Field Facility at 11 a.m.
