Men's Track & Field has Strong Showing at Penn Relays

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The University of New Hampshire men's track and field team completed competition at the Penn Relays with strong performances in each event. Senior Max Hoddwells (Wayne, Maine) highlighted the event with a third-place finish in the triple jump.

On Friday, the 4x400 relay team of Nicholas Sullivan (Newport, N.H.), Isaiah Penn (Boston, Mass.), Tyler Mulcahy (Weymouth, Mass.) and Joseph Lemay (Derry, N.H.) came in second in their heat with a time of 3:18.53. Overall, the squad finished 44th.

Saturday's events consisted of the triple jump and the 4x800 relay. In the triple jump, Hoddwells leapt his way to fourth place, clearing a distance of 14.37 meters. In the 4x800 relay, the squad of James Anderson (Melrose, Mass.), Luke Miller (Birdsboro, Pa.), David Gervais (Nashua, N.H.) and Kevin Greene (Silver Spring, Md.) finished fifth in section two, crossing the line with a time of 7:41.62. Overall, the time put them 18th.

The team will hit the road as it will travel to Vestal, N.Y., for the America East Championships, held at Binghamton University. The two-day competition will start May 4 at 9 a.m.
