MEN'S CROSS COUNTRY PLACES SECOND AT MURRAY KEATINGE INVITE

   Orono, Maine – The University of New Hampshire men’s cross country team compiled 67 points en route to capturing second place at the Murray Keatinge Invitational on Saturday as junior co-captain Jordan Horowitz (Evanston, Ill/Evanston) led the pack of Wildcats with a fifth place effort in Orono, Maine.
    The Big Green of Dartmouth tallied 40 team points to garner the victory, while UNH finished with 67. Texas Tech followed with 91 points, host Maine notched a fourth place showing with 99 and Stony Brook rounded out the top five with 106 team points.
    Horowtiz, New Hampshire’s number one runner this season crossed the finish line with a time of 24:39:17 and junior Robert Edgerton (Cornish, N.H./Windsor) followed with a sixth place finish for a time of 24:49.04. Matthew Russell (Ogdensburg, N.Y.) notched a 12th place effort (25:08.14) and classmate Andrew Van Hoogenstyn (Scarborough, Maine/Scarborough) rounded out the top 20 with a time of 25:27.23.
The Wildcats return to action on Saturday (Oct. 7) at Franklin Park in Boston, Massachusetts for a 12:00 noon start at New England Championships.
