DURHAM, N.H. – Senior Daniel DeCrescenzo (New Milford, Conn.) turned in a top-10 finish to lead the University of New Hampshire men's cross country team to a second place finish Saturday in the team's season opening tri-meet against Providence College and the University of Maine at the College Woods course.
New Hampshire finished with a total of 55 points, ahead of Maine (57) but behind Providence (21).
DeCrescenzo ran in the course in a time of 19:48 to finish in sixth place.
Sophomore Joseph Jourdain (Hudson, N.H.), who also recorded a top-10 finish for the Wildcats, placed ninth with a time of 20:09.
Junior Patrick Taft (Hanson, Mass.), graduate student Andrew Dionne (Westerly, R.I.) and freshman Jeff Moretti (Guilford, Conn.) all finished inside the top-15. Taft placed 11th overall, completing the course in 20:20, while Dionne and Moretti placed 14th and 15th, respectively, in times of 20:27 and 20:32.
The Wildcats return to action on Saturday, Sept. 24 when they visit the University of Maine at 3 p.m.
