DURHAM, N.H. - Five Wildcats scored in double figures as the University of New Hampshire women's basketball team posted a 68-55 victory over the Netherlands National Team in an exhibition game tonight at Lundholm Gymnasium.

Sisters Anna Matthias (Guilford, Conn.) and Maren Matthias (Guilford, Conn.) each recorded double-doubles, with both scoring 11 points and hauling down 11 boards apiece.

The visitors held a 15-10 lead with 9:09 to play in the first half after Nienke Geerts converted a conventional three-point play. The'Cats would then go on a 14-2 run capped by a three-pointer by junior Kiki Proctor (Harrisburg, Pa.) to give UNH a 24-17 lead with 3:33 left in the half. New Hampshire would head to the locker room at the half with a 28-24 advantage.

The hosts would open the second half with a 13-2 run that gave the Wildcats a 41-26 lead with 16:34 to play in the game. The run was capped by five-straight points by Sarah Bushey (Champlain, N.Y.) on a pair of free throws and a three-pointer. Netherlands would close to within 64-53 with 2:03 to play on a three-pointer by Laura Kooij, but the visitors would get no closer.

Bushey and senior Kelly Donohue (Rochester, N.H.) each recorded 11 points, while sophomore Taylore Jarvis (Nazareth, Pa.) chipped in with 10 points. Kooij had a game-high 16 points for the visitors. Elke Snider also recorded a double-double with 10 points and 11 boards.

UNH has one exhibition game remaining, a November 13 contest against Nor'Easter Storm (7 pm). The Wildcats kick off the 2000-01 season when they host Brown Friday, November 17 at 7 pm at Lundholm Gymnasium.
