BOSTON - Danielle Clark (Corinna, Maine) of the University of New Hampshire women's basketball team was honored by the America East Conference on Monday when she was named the league's Rookie of the Week. Clark is the second Wildcat to collect the honor this season, as fellow freshman Ray Williams (Mississauga, Ontario) received the award December 1.

Clark, a 6-0 forward, recorded 13 points and five rebounds in UNH's only game last week, a 59-46 win over Wisconsin-Milwaukee. The 13 points was a season-high for Clark, who was 4-6 from the floor and 4-5 from the charity stripe. Her conventional three-point play on an offensive putback gave UNH a 45-40 lead late in the midst of a 12-1 run that sealed the game for the Wildcats.

A 2003 graduate of Nokomis Regional HS, Clark ranks fourth on the Wildcats in scoring (7.3 ppg) and is second on the squad in assists (18). She has started each of the first six games for UNH, the only freshman to start this season.

New Hampshire returns to action December 28 when it travels to Brooklyn Heights, N.Y. to face St. Francis College. The next Wildcat home game is December 30 when the 'Cats entertain Southern Methodist University in a 7:00 contest at Lundholm Gymnasium.
