UNH Women's Basketball hires Assistant Coach and Graduate Assistant

DURHAM, N.H. -University of New Hampshire women's basketball coach Sue Johnson announced today that Emily Caschera has been hired as an assistant coach for the upcoming season. The Wildcats also named Colleen Carbone as a graduate assistant for 2003-04.

Caschera, who served as a graduate assistant at UNH last season, played for Johnson at UNH from 1999-2003. During her playing career Caschera was a tri-captain and starter during the 2002-03 campaign. She was named to the America East conference honor roll from 2000-2003. She received the Coaches' Award in 2003 and the team's Most Improved Player in 2000. She graduated from UNH in 2003 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology and completed her Master of Arts in Teaching in May of this year, while assisting the program.

Colleen Carbone, who played for Nashua High School, was a member of the women's basketball team at Merrimack College. In 2004, Carbone helped lead Merrimack to a Northeast-10 Championship and a trip to the Division II Final Four. Before Merrimack, she played for St. Francis College (NY). In 2002-03 she served as team captain and was awarded the Coaches' Award.
