DARTMOUTH DEFEATS UNH IN WOMEN'S HOOP, 79-67

- Ashley Taylor and Koren Schram each scored 22 points to lead Dartmouth College to a 79-67 victory over the University of New Hampshire women’s basketball team on Wednesday evening at Lundholm Gymnasium.
    The Wildcats (5-9) were led in scoring by senior forward Danielle Clark (Corinna, Maine) with 17 points and senior guard Whitney Edwards (Mount Vernon, N.Y.) with 13 points and six assists.
    UNH jumped out to a strong start early on, scoring the first 10 points of the contest and led by as many as 10 points with the score 13-3 and 14:54 remaining in the first half. However, Dartmouth (5-9) cut the UNH lead to one point. outscoring UNH 15-6 to make the score 19-18 with 10:21 to go before the half. The Big Green took the lead for good with 5:07 remaining in the first half on a jumper by Kristen Craft to make the score 28-27 in favor of the visitors.
    Dartmouth led by as many as 14 points (76-62) with 2:03 left in the contest. The Wildcats got no closer than five points on a jumper by freshman forward Candace Williams (Norfolk, Mass.) with 11:51 left and the score 54-49 Dartmouth.
    The visitors shot 49 percent (24-49) from the floor, while UNH shot 42.4 percent (25-59). Dartmouth outrebounded UNH by a margin of 42-30. UNH had three players score in double-figures. In addition to the 17 points by Clark and the 13 points by Edwards, senior Ray Williams (Mississauga, Ontario) had 11 points, six rebounds, three blocks and two steals.
