CAMBRIDGE, Mass. Denise Beliveau (Framingham, Mass.), a freshman on the University of New Hampshire women’s basketball team, has garnered her fifth America East Rookie of the Week as announced by the conference on Monday afternoon.

Beliveau went 5-for-7 from the field earned 13 first-half points against Vermont. She totaled with 15 points, four steals and seven rebounds in 39 minutes of action. The forward delivered 11 second-half points against UMBC and was the only Wildcat to post in double-figures, tallying 16 points in the game. She also pulled down a game-high seven rebounds in the game.

The forward averaged 15.5 points, 7.0 rebounds and 3.0 steals per game this past week, while shooting 48 percent from the field and 5-for-12 from beyond the 3-point arc. She totals a team-best 47 steals on the season and is the squad’s second leading scorer and rebounder in conference play, averaging 11.4 points and 6.9 per game during America East action.

Laura Seiden, the program’s second-highest scorer, is the only other Wildcat to win more Rookie of the Week honors with seven awards during the 1989-90 season. She went on to win Rookie of the Year and was selected to the all-conference second team.

Beliveau and the rest of the Wildcats will travel to Boston University to face to the Terriers on Wednesday, Feb. 27. The team returns to Lundholm Gymnasium on Saturday, Mar. 1 as they host Binghamton in their last regular-season home game.
