DURHAM, N.H. – Maureen Magarity, head coach of the University of New Hampshire women's basketball program has announced the conference schedule for the upcoming 2010-11 season.
The Wildcats tip off America East play with a pair of trips to the Empire State, facing Albany (Jan. 4) and Binghamton (Jan. 9). In between the two matchups, New Hampshire makes a pit stop back in Durham to take on Boston University (Jan. 6), who has reached the postseason in each of the last two seasons, at Lundholm Gymnasium.
New Hampshire follows up with a three-game homestand, starting with Hartford (Jan. 12), who last year received it's first-ever at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament. After hosting the Hawks, the 'Cats will take on Stony Brook (Jan. 15) and defending conference champion Vermont (Jan. 17).
Following their meeting with the Catamounts, the Wildcats kick off a trio of road games beginning with UMBC (Jan. 23), followed by Maine (Jan. 26) and Boston University (Jan. 29). The 'Cats return to Durham to tip off the month of February hosting a pair of matchups against Albany (Feb. 3) and Binghamton (Feb. 6).
The Wildcats play three of their next five games on the road to wrap up the season, taking on Stony Brook (Feb. 9), Vermont (Feb. 17) and Hartford (Feb. 26). During the stretch the 'Cats make two stops back in Durham, squaring off against UMBC (Feb. 13) and rival Maine (Feb. 23).
The 2010 America East Tournament will begin on March 3. The University of Hartford will serve as hosts for the fourth straight year, with all games taking place at Chase Arena in West Hartford, Conn.
