MacMullan Headlines A Successful Wildcat Legends Golf Outing
DURHAM, N.H. – The Wildcat Legends Golf Outing, established by the University of New Hampshire women's basketball program as an annual fundraiser, was a great success in its debut on May 18, 2012, at The Oaks Golf Links in Somersworth.
Jackie MacMullan '82 was the honored Legend at the event, which featured an 18-hole shotgun tournament and luncheon, as well as an auction and raffle. MacMullan graduated from UNH cum laude and played four years of basketball in which she led the team in scoring as a sophomore and served as team captain in her senior year. She was the recipient of both the Robert Perry Student-Athlete Award and the Dean Williamson Award, which is given to the student who excels in scholarship athletics and loyalty to the University.
MacMullan went on to have an extremely successful career as a nationally-recognized sports columnist, television personality and author. She has made a difference not only at UNH, but in the sports world as a whole.
On a picture-perfect day at the 2012 Wildcat Legends Golf Outing, MacMullan addressed the crowd – sharing anecdotes from her time at UNH and her professional career – and led a question & answer session with those in attendance.
In addition, the UNH women's basketball coaching staff and players were at the event. Some competed in a foursome, while others circulated around The Oaks Golf Links course to mingle with the golfers.
The Wildcat Legends Golf Outing will return in May 2013.
