DURHAM, N.H.--Senior forwards Carisa Zaban (Glenview, Ill.) and Samantha Holmes (Mississauga, Ont.) of the University of New Hampshire women’s ice hockey team were named to the ECAC Honor Roll Monday for their efforts against Harvard.
Zaban and Holmes both scored one goal and added two assists as the Crimson defeated the Wildcats 6-4.
Zaban assisted on senior defenseman Kerry Maher’s (Chittenango, N.Y.) powerplay goal at 4:38 of the second period which cut the Harvard lead to 3-1. Zaban and Holmes both recorded assists on senior foward Tina Carrabba’s (Billerica, Mass.) goal at 11:08 that trimmed the Crimson lead to 4-2. Zaban then found the back of the net at 15:32 for a 4-3 Harvard lead. Holmes closed out the Wildcat scoring at 19:23 of the third period which cut the Harvard lead to 5-4.
UNH returns to action on Saturday against Cornell at 7 p.m. The Wildcats then take on St. Lawrence University on Sunday at 3 p.m. Both games are at the Whittemore Center.
