Three UNH women's ice hockey players named to New England Hockey Writers Association Women's Division I All-Star Team

DURHAM, N.H.--Three University of New Hampshire women's ice hockey players were named to the New England Hockey Writers Association Women's Division I All-Star Team Tuesday. Seniors Carisa Zaban (Glenview, Ill.), Samantha Holmes (Mississauga, Ont.) and Kerry Maher (Chittenango, N.Y.) were part of the 12 member team.

Zaban received All-New England honors last year after leading the team in scoring with 29 goals and 38 assists for 67 points. This season, Zaban led the ECAC with 35 goals and was named a Patty Kazmaier Memorial Award Finalist.

Holmes and Maher are first time selections to the All-New England squad. Holmes received ECAC second team honors after finishing second in scoring with 27 goals and 21 assists for 48 points. Maher was an ECAC Honorable Mention honoree after leading all UNH defensemen with 11 goals and 13 assists for 24 points.
