COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo -- The University of New Hampshire posted two victories, and took advantage of a misstep by Harvard University to move past the Crimson and claim the No. 1 spot in the American Hockey Magazine Women's College Hockey Poll. A unanimous first-place selection in the poll, New Hampshire routed Yale University, 7-0, before defeating No.9 Princeton University, 5-3.
Second-ranked Harvard suffered its first loss of the season, falling in overtime, 5-4, to Dartmouth College. The Crimson rebounded on Saturday to top Boston College, 7-2. Despite being edged, 1-0l, by Brown University, the road win against Harvard helped Dartmouth jump two places to the No. 5 spot. Brown also handled Boston College 9-0 and advanced to No. 3 in the poll.
The third annual American Hockey Magazine Women's College Hockey Poll is conducted each week in conjunction with the American Hockey Coaches Association. The poll includes input from women's college ice hockey coaches and journalists, as well as composite votes from officers of the American Hockey Coaches Association and American Hockey Magazine, the official publication of USA Hockey.
