New Hampshire women's hockey feted by ECAC

CENTERVILLE, Mass. - Sophomore forward Carolyn Gordon (Petrolia, Ont.) and freshman forward Randi MacMaster (Syracuse, N.Y.) of the University of New Hampshire women's ice hockey team received ECAC honors Monday. Gordon earned the Player of the Week award and MacMaster was named Rookie of the Week.

Gordon recorded five points, all on assists, and also had a +2 rating while skating on the right wing of the first line in a pair of games against Ohio State. She recorded a personal-best three assists in the Oct. 19 season opener, a 4-3 loss at the Whittemore Center. Gordon followed that effort with two assists, including the primary assist on the Oct. 20 game-winning overtime goal. Her first tally gave UNH a 1-0 first-period lead and her second strike put the 'Cats ahead 3-2 in the second stanza. The following night, MacMaster centered the third line and set up both of UNH's second-period tallies that gave New Hampshire a 2-1 lead. She is tied for the team lead in goals (two) and is second in points (four).
