CENTERVILLE, Mass. - Jen Huggon (Plymouth, Mass.), a junior on the University of New Hampshire women's ice hockey team, was named Goaltender of the Week by the ECAC Women's Eastern Hockey League on Monday.

Huggon backboned UNH to a 2-0-0 record last week with a 1.00 goals-against-average and a .956 save percentage in two games at Maine. She stopped 17 of 18 shots in Friday's 3-1 victory and turned aside 26 of 27 shots (.963 save percentage) Saturday afternoon (4-1 win). Saturday's shutout bid was denied on a goal with 5:50 remaining in the third period.

Huggon, who received the honor twice last season, has a 3-1-0 record with a 2.22 GAA and a .916 save percentage in the 2001-02 season.

Last year, Huggon broke the school record for saves both in a period (22) and single season (841).

The eighth-ranked UNH women's ice hockey team (3-1-0) returns to action Nov. 2 for the first of a two-game home series against Quinnipiac College. UNH head coach Karen Kay has 199 career victories and will become the sixth women's ice hockey coach to reach the 200-victory plateau with the team's next win .
