WAKEFIELD, Mass. - Led by 2003-03 Top Scholar-Athlete Allison Edgar (Brigden, Ont.), seven University of New Hampshire women's hockey players were named to the inaugural Women's Hockey East All-Academic Team, the league announced Friday. To qualify for the team, a student-athlete must have achieved a minimum grade-point-average of 3.0 in both semesters of the 2002-03 academic year.




DURHAM, N.H. - The University of New Hampshire women's ice hockey team recently held its annual team banquet and honored the student-athletes who made the 2003 Wildcat squad the second-winningest in the 26-year history of the program with a 27-7-2 record.

It was also announced that UNH head coach Brian McCloskey was voted the New England Hockey Writers Coach of the Year.

The Maine women’s hockey team’s season came to an end this afternoon as the Black Bears fell to New Hampshire 2-0 in the semifinals of the Hockey East Tournament at Matthews Arena in Boston, Mass. Maine finishes with a record of 12-15-4 overall while UNH moves on to the Hockey East Championship game against the winner of Providence versus Connecticut.
