The Wildcats, who have scored three power-play goals in every game this season, also received multiple-point efforts from Kacey Bellamy (Westfield, Mass.), Sam Faber (Mt. New Hampshire controlled play from the opening faceoff and generated a 15-1 shot advantage in the first period to build a1-0 lead. Bellamy scored her first career goal, a power-play tally at 9:34, when she scored at the right doorstep into an open net. Garland and Nicole Hekle (Winnipeg, Manitoba) were credited with assists.

Leah Craig (Seaforth, Ontario), the reigning Hockey East Player of the Week and USCHO Offensive Player of the Week, netted the only second-period goal to extend the Wildcats' lead to 2-0. Garland's pass from the left point connected with Craig low on the right side, and she lifted a shot just under the crossbar at 9:10. Bellamy also received an assist on the power-play goal.

The Wildcats entered the third period with a 30-9 shot advantage and pulled away in the third. Faber scored on a give-and-go play with Taylor Palazeti (Calgary, Alberta) that was set up by Wright-Ward at 2:52. Garland extended the advantage to 4-0 with a low, screened shot from the high slot on the power play at 9:13. Wright-Ward gave the 'Cats a five-goal lead when she scored off her own rebound at 11:50.

Hayley Moore scored off a screened shot from the left circle with the Bears skating with a two-player advantage at 18:09.
