WAKEFIELD, Mass. – Kelly Paton (Woodstock, Ontario), a freshman forward on the third-ranked University of New Hampshire women’s hockey team, was named Mission Hockey Rookie of the Week by Hockey East on Monday.
   Paton scored three goals to account for all three of her points in the two-game series vs. SLU. She gave the Wildcats a 1-0 lead in both games, and her shorthanded goal put the ‘Cats ahead 2-0 in the middle stanza of the second game of the series. Sunday’s two-goal game marked the first multiple-goal effort of Paton’s 12-game career.
   Paton has recorded 12 points with five goals and seven assists this season to rank fourth on the team in both goals and assists and tied for fourth in points. Paton is 10th in the nation among rookies at 1.00 points per game. She has recorded a point in nine of 12 games and her season highlights also include a personal-best three assists (and points) at Colgate University on Oct. 22.
   UNH (10-1-1 overall, 3-1-0 Hockey East) continues its seven-game homestand this weekend with two games vs. Northeastern University at the Whittemore Center. The series begins Nov. 17 (7 p.m.) and concludes Nov. 18 (2 p.m.).
