Faber recorded three goals, including one game-winning tally, and four assists for seven points in three games last week for UNH. Faber finished with a career-high five points against eighth-ranked University of Connecticut on Nov. 10 by matching her personal best of three assists and scoring two goals; she set up two of the first three goals – including the game-winning tally – and factored into all three third-period strikes with two goals and an assist to propel the Wildcats to an 8-2 win that kept the team perfect (7-0-0) in league play.
Last Wednesday against 10th-ranked Boston College, Faber sparked UNH’s three-goal third period with a goal at 2:24 that gave the ‘Cats a 2-0 lead and proved to be the game-winning goal in the 4-1 victory. She also set up the tally that gave the Wildcats a 1-0 lead late in the second stanza.
Faber leads the team in goals (eight), game-winning goals (five), shooting percentage (.229) and points (17); she also ranks second in plus/minus (+13) and third in assists (nine). With those statistics, Faber leads the nation in game-winning goals and is ranked 11th in goals per game (0.73) as well as 13th in points per game (1.55).
UNH has won a total of six Hockey East awards this season, including back-to-back TPS Hockey Player of the Week awards; Sadie Wright-Ward (Durham, N.H.) was last week’s recipient.
