HERMAN SELECTED AS MISSION CO-ROOKIE OF THE WEEK BY HOCKEY EAST
WAKEFIELD, Mass.  – Kayley Herman (Weyburn, Saskatchewan), a freshman goaltender on the third-ranked University of New Hampshire women’s ice hockey team, was named Mission co-Rookie of the Week by Hockey East on Monday.

Herman led the Wildcats to a 4-2 road victory against fourth-ranked St. Lawrence University in the season opener – her collegiate debut – on Oct. 5. She made 16 saves, eight of which came in the first period as UNH took a 1-0 lead. Both Saints’ goals against Herman were scored on the power play, including one on a two-skater advantage. Herman held SLU scoreless for the final 34 minutes, 29 seconds to give the Wildcats their opportunity to rally to victory.

UNH returns to action Oct. 14 at home against Colgate University as part of Homecoming Weekend. Game time at the Whittemore Center is 1 p.m. Tickets are available online at www.unhwildcats.com or by calling 866-WILDCAT. Fans can also watch the game online at UNHwildcats.tv.
