SKUDDER NAMED ROOKIE OF THE WEEK BY WOMEN'S HOCKEY EAST
WAKEFIELD, Mass. – Brittany
Skudder (Plainview, N.Y.), a freshman forward on the
third-ranked University of New Hampshire women’s ice hockey
team, was named Rookie of the Week by Women's Hockey East on
Monday.
Skudder netted two power-play goals to lead UNH to a 3-3 tie at
sixth-ranked St. Lawrence University on Oct. 24. Her first goal of
the game gave the Wildcats a 1-0 lead less than five minutes into
the game and the second tally extended UNH’s lead to 3-1 late
in the second period. Both the two goals and two points are career
highs.
In eight games this season, Skudder has compiled three goals and
three assists for six points.
UNH (5-1-2 overall, 1-0-0-0 Hockey East) returns to action at the
Whittemore Center this weekend with league games against
Connecticut (Oct. 31; 5 p.m.) and Maine (Nov. 1; 3 p.m.). Kids are
encouraged to wear a costume to Saturday’s game vs. UConn and
Sunday’s game vs. Maine is a “White Out the Whit”
event.
