PATON SELECTED PLAYER OF THE WEEK BY WOMEN'S HOCKEY EAST
WAKEFIELD, Mass. – Kelly
Paton (Woodstock, Ontario), a senior forward and captain
on the fourth-ranked University of New Hampshire women’s ice
hockey team, was named Player of the Week by the Women’s
Hockey East Association on Monday.
Paton factored in seven of the team’s eight goals with three
goals and four assists in wins against the University of
Connecticut (3-1; Oct. 31) and University of Maine (5-0; Nov. 1);
she also had a +6 rating for the week.
Paton tallied two goals and two assists vs. Maine to match her
career high of four points. She scored the second and fifth goals
of that game and set up goals 28 seconds apart in the third period
to quickly double a two goal lead and give the Wildcats control of
the game. Against UConn, Paton set up both second-period goals and
scored early in the third to help the ‘Cats erase a one-goal
deficit.
Paton has tallied a point in all 10 games this season with totals
of six goals and 13 assists for 19 points to lead the team in all
three statistics and rank third in the nation in points per game

for 130 points. She is tied for No. 16 on the UNH career assist
leaderboard and is 22nd in points.
