WOMEN'S HOCKEY GAME SCHEDULED FOR NOV. 14 AT VERMONT IS POSTPONED
WAKEFIELD, Mass.
– The Women’s Hockey East Association announced Friday
that the women’s ice hockey game scheduled Saturday, Nov. 14
between the fourth-ranked University of New Hampshire and
homestanding University of Vermont has been postponed due to a
number of UNH student-athletes with flu-like symptoms.
The league game between the two schools will be made up at a later
date mutually agreed upon by school administrators.
“Our directors anticipated that this situation would arise
this season,” said Hockey East Commissioner Joe Bertagna.
“The decision to postpone the game came only after input from
the proper health authorities at the University of New Hampshire,
as required by recently enacted league policy.”
New Hampshire has a five-game unbeaten streak (3-0-2) and is 8-1-3
overall as well as 4-0-1-0 in Hockey East. The Wildcats return to
action Nov. 18 (7 p.m.) at Harvard University. UNH’s next
home game is Nov. 21 (5 p.m.) against Rensselaer.
