LAVOIE HONORED AS BAUER ROOKIE OF THE MONTH BY HOCKEY EAST
WAKEFIELD, Mass. – Kristina
Lavoie (Fonthill, Ontario), a freshman forward on the
third-ranked University of New Hampshire women’s ice hockey
team, was named Bauer Rookie of the Month for the month of
December, as announced by Hockey East on Thursday.
Lavoie recorded two goals and two assists for a total of four
points in three December games; her other statistics included one
power-play goal and a +3 plus/minus rating. She netted a goal at
Boston College to help lift UNH to a 4-0 victory on Dec. 8, then

at Dartmouth College to lead the Wildcats to a 4-1 win on Dec. 12.
In the latter game, Lavoie set up the team’s initial two
goals in a span of 2:06 in the second period to transform a
one-goal deficit into a lead the ‘Cats would not
relinquish.
In 18 games this season, Lavoie has tallied six goals and eight
assists for 14 points. She is ranked seventh in the nation in
rookie scoring (0.78 points per game) as well as 13th in power-play
goals with four. Lavoie is tied for third on the team in assists
and is tied for fourth in both points and plus/minus (+5). She has
a point in eight of 18 games with four multiple-point efforts.
New Hampshire (12-2-4 overall, 6-1-1-0 Hockey East) returns to
action Jan. 8 (4 p.m.) against Northeastern University as part of
the Sun Life Frozen Fenway doubleheader at Fenway Park. The
Wildcats’ next home game is Jan. 16 against Providence
College. The game, which is part of Hockey East’s Skating
